Our first Living History Weekend of the 2024 season, our WWII Tank Demonstration Memorial Day Weekend, was spectacular on all accounts! A combination of beautiful weather and roaring tanks allowed us to welcome over 3000 visitors of all ages to our campus! The engines were running all through the day as we drove a record number of rides and drives in the M4 Sherman, M24 Chaffee, and M36 Jackson and the two tank parades at 11am and 2pm certainly made our driving grounds feel like 1944!
A special thanks (tanks?) to all of our volunteers and helpers who made the weekend possible – their hard work truly showed! And thanks also to the re-enactors and participants who helped take us all back in time 80 years!
Here is a gallery of great photos from the weekend by Roland Brooks! Click on the photos to go to our main gallery featuring over 60 photos from the weekend!
Another WWII Tank Demonstration Weekend in August!
If you missed the May Tank Demonstration Weekend, don’t worry, we have a second WWII Tank Demonstration Weekend coming up in August with a few special “heavy” guests like the M26 Pershing and hopefully our T-72 Soviet main battle tank will be joining in as well!
