The American Heritage Museum has partnered with the International History Institute at Boston University for the 2021 Speaker Series.
Directed by Professor of History Cathal Nolan, the International History Institute (IHI) at Boston University was founded in 1999 to promote the importance of history in understanding international cultural, economic, political, and military affairs. It supports interdisciplinary faculty research and teaching and promotes public conversation through open participation in its conferences, lectures, seminars, colloquia and film series.
Opened in May, 2019, the American Heritage Museum (AHM) is home to one of the largest collections of tanks, military vehicles and rare historical artifacts in the United States. The American Heritage Museum was designed to fully engage people in understanding our turbulent past. In this remarkable place, American history is explored, studied and most of all, remembered. Through educational interpretation, and a chronologically arranged series of dioramas and exhibits, the American Heritage Museum brings world history and the history of our veterans to life.
The partnership between IHI and AHM provides a stellar foundation to present to the public an impressive array of historical talks, presentations, symposiums, and exhibitions through 2021. As we are still in the midst of the pandemic, the first few will be available virtually. As soon as restrictions lift, the American Heritage Museum will host IHI events at location in Hudson, Massachusetts.
